I run castrol in my car which will change to amsoil when i found out how much a car change and filter is for this damn car no matter what oil.
my boat and bikes have amsoil.
I built a 302 v8 with a friend for his stang, we broke it in with dino oil and then when he changed his oil he used mobil one. I found out after he had 10,000 HARD miles . I was like great you should have switched to amsoil but said it was to late. keep using the mobil one. well, he changed his oil to amsoil even though i said it was to late. he calld me up and told me his car was burning oil after he switched. He forgot i said it was to late. I learned that the amsoil oil for the loose tolerance v8 american engines helped wear tremendously because of the smaller molecular structure and superior lubricities. so much that the oil would cause blow by if used after a conventional synthetic. It doesnt happen much but there are cases of it. I told him to change his oil back to what he was using and sure enough a couple hundred miles later the blow by stopped. he wasted like 80 bucks on oil and filters and learned a lesson.
hes runnin a fps 347 stroker now with amsoil ;)
and actually there are some ford guys using castrol syntec for a long time and think its thier secret weapon, you know who you are!!
