Ok, some people have commented on cost and/or cost comparison, so I figured I would have a look to see what I could come up with.

    Task:
Given this ASP turbo kit, compare costs to AWE and APR for their turbo kits, being sure to add in any parts so that all were equal comparison. If any kit then contains extra parts, be sure to note that as well. I choose these two other vendors as they are the most common turbo upgrade kits out there. I guess I could add in MTM as well, but most just know them as overpriced, so what's the sense.

Looking at the parts in the ASP kit, to get the same thing from the other tuners, I'll have to be sure to include full turbo/fuel kit, downpipes, and exhaust manifolds - those are the main parts.

I'll note the prices for my car, a 2002 S4. If I were doing this for a Bosch-MAF car, I would have to add in another $300 for AWE's kit, and I suppose I'd at least need to buy a Hitachi sensor for ASP's kit to work (?). APR's kit comes with an RS4 MAF/sensor regardless, so it's not an issue with them.

    AWE:
    01-02 RSK04 Turbo/Fueling Kit WITH Manifolds $8,045.00
    2001 - 2002 Avant Quattro 6 speed manual AWE Tuning 2.7T downpipes W/OUT TEST PIPES $1,595.00
    2001 - 2002 Avant Quattro 6 speed manual 2.25 junction option $50.00
    AWE Total = $9,690
Additional parts in this kit, not in both of the other kits include:
    - n/a
Missing parts in this kit, which are in the other kits include:
    - Fuel pump

    APR:
    2002 S4 2.7T 6spd T3100001 $6749.00
    2002 2.7T 6spd CD100002 $1499.00
    w/AWE Manifolds, +$2995
    w/ASP Manifolds, +$1499
    APR Total = $11,243 w/ AWE Manifolds
    APR Total = $9,747 w/ ASP Manifolds
Additional parts in this kit, not in both of the other kits include:
    - MAF sensor included, other kits require possible additional cost or incompatibility.
    - All EMCS options including 4 switchable slots to load stock, valet, 93oct, 100oct, 104oct programs.
Missing parts in this kit, which are in the other kits include:
    - Spark Plugs

    ASP:
    GT25R kit w/downpipes & manifolds
    $12,950
Additional parts in this kit, not in both of the other kits include:
    - instead of K04s: Garrett Honeywell GT25R Turbochargers
    * Compressors Machined for Charge Reference Lines
    * Turbine Housings Machined and Tapped
    * Turbine Housings Modified to facilitate External Wastegates and WG cavity plugged and welded to help spool.
    * Pre-Assembled with all Lines & Indexed for Easy Installation
    - [2] TialSport 38mm External Wastegates
    - [2] Stainless Braided Teflon Lined Oil Feed Lines with AN Fittings and Washers
    - [2] Stainless Braided Teflon Lined Charge Reference Lines with Banjo Fittings and Washers
    - [2] Stainless Braided Teflon Lined Coolant Return Lines with AN Fittings, Banjos and Washers
    - [1] OEM Modified Coolant Feed Line
    - [2] Head Gaskets
    - [1] High Strength Head Bolt Kit
    - [1] ASP Phenolic Spacers (set) w/gaskets
Missing parts in this kit, which are in the other kits include:
    - n/a

    Power:
    Per the data available:
    APR: 447cHP
AWE: 460cHP per 364wHP on Mustang AWD-500-SE Dyno
ASP: 630cHP per 492wHP on Mustang AWD-500-SE Dyno

    Summary:
While Autospeed's dollar amount sounds high, it's actually not that much higher than the others due to the fact that it represents a turbo kit + downpipes + manifolds. When looking at the couple thousand more the ASP kit is, and referencing the 1.) extra parts included, 2.) extra labor involved, and 3.) extra power it puts out, I think the price difference is well worth it for what you get.

    Comments welcome.

    P.S. I'm copy/pasting other people's $/HP calcs here:

    http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2227649.phtml :
    amount you pay per cHP....

    APR- $21.80 per cHP(ASP manifold)
    AWE- $21.07 per cHP
    ASP- $20.55 per cHP

    http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2227681.phtml :
cost per incremental HP, which makes it:

APR 447hp = +197hp = $49.48/inc. hp (assumes ASP manifolds in costs, but no increase in HP. any hp gains will lower the cost/inc. hp accordingly)
    AWE 460hp = +210hp = $46.14/inc. hp
    ASP 630hp = +380hp = $34.08/inc. hp
