in some states even sharing the information on disabling emissions systems could open you up to legal action.
"Finally, be aware that pollution will increase dramatically if you tamper with your car's emission control system or use leaded gasoline in a vehicle designed for unleaded gasoline. These activities are illegal - for individual vehicle owners as well as for fleet operators and auto technicians. Today's vehicles are designed with emission controls as integral components of the powertrain. Any tampering with this system will not only drastically increase emissions but is likely to have a negative effect on vehicle performance and durability." http://www.epa.gov/otaq/consumer/18-youdo.htm I'm grateful that I do get to own such great cars and have access to such cheap fuel (in world terms). That's why I try to demonstrate my gratefulness by not placing a greater burden on the world at large than I already have, by damaging or disabling the emission systems on my cars - even if it would make them another tenth of second quicker. I'd rather that deficit be made up by my learning to be a better and faster driver. Easier on the rest of the world, and it's a mod that can be transfered to any vehicle :-) It's like litter. Some people are religious about disposing of litter correctly - while others just chuck anything out of the window when nobody is watching. Problem is, we all have to live with the mess, whether you are a litterer or not. Of course if you're such a great driver that you've managed to gain every nanosecond of performance out of your car already, and the only thing left is to create for pollutants for all of us to breathe, but all means do so ;-P
