See my earlier thread from today to see what the symptoms were. I VAGged the central lock system and found 01367 - central locking pump runtime exceeded (likely leak).
So, I located the pump, hit the remote a few times, and confirmed that it still had power (could hear the mechanical sounds trying to do something). Checked some of the visible hoses for leaks, but didn't find any. So, I pulled the pump out and decided to take a peek inside. Popped off the cream colored top, pryed up the circuit board, removed the three screws holding the cylinder thingy together, and removed the top layer. Here's what I found: ![]() See all those broken pieces inside of the outer ring? Doesn't look right... Dumped it all out, and look at all of the pieces: ![]() Some kind of residue is all over my hands now - seems like it might be graphite? Here's the bottom plate: ![]() So, if I could find a way to replace the thing that broke from the center of the two plates and the outer ring, I should be in business. Any ideas? The wear patterns on the plates seem to indicate that this thing is supposed to spin around inside. Maybe the friction somehow generates the vacuum? I don't even know what this thing was supposed to look like when new. I have a feeling that I'm going to get stuck buying a new part, though... ======================================== |
