Why on earth would someone go through so much trouble to steal a gas cap?

Default Don't the TTs have those stainless gas caps (like the 3rd gen eclipse)? Maybe some fool

thought he could save himself the $10 Pep Boys expense and instead spend 30 minutes cutting someone's car up.

now those are anti-theft devices. maybe not 'socially accepted' but none the less, they'll work :P

Gas cap is $356.

Default soc. accepted is definetly not what some of these individuals are doing...

i'm so against this crap ...
i wouldn't mind if that cap(new in a box) was stolen from a dealership store that could write it off as one time thing .. but that is over any acceptable limit.
