SPEC #2 + KO4 Stage 3 => not going to hold for those that do track days (more)
I did my 4th track day with this setup.
The other 3 were at MOSPORT (very highspeed track - not very hard on brakes - car sees second gear only once - great track for the S4).
I was at Shannonville between Toronto and Montreal. This track eats tires and brakes. The track can be set up many different ways - but over all, it is flat and the heavy S4 is out of its element (now back to the story).
After six 15 minute sessions with cooldowns, my clutch began to partially slip in 3rd and 4th gear on the back straight. I immediately recognized what was happening and backed off. I came in and let the car cool down for 40 minutes. Seemed to work but I didn't push it 100% (only 90%) as I did not want to find out if this track day was going to cost be $2000.
As background, this is my daily driver, I do not drag race, I do not drop the clutch at 4000 rpm. I believe that I once dropped it from 3500 to test it out. I love the SPEC #2 it really is a very good clutch.
I think I should have gone SPEC #3 or SPEC #2/3.
Also, my STOPTECH drilled rotors are starting to show serious wear / (small cracking) after 6 track days in total (Pagid Orange for track days - Axis Ultimate for street duty - I had Ferodos in there for 6 months street / 1 track day)

I had a similar experience at Pocono East
But I attributed it to driver error. I did a lot of shifting in and out of 2nd & 3rd gears and I might have been letting my foot rest on the clutch and/or slipping it. I completely lost clutch action and had to pull over for a cool down. This was only during one of 4 sessions when I was being very aggressive.

Yeah, my spec stage 2 is garbage.
It was ok on the street, but as soon as I took it to the track it died.
Didn't seem like a power issue - rather, it stopped fully disengaging. The shop even went as far as to try swapping out all the various hydraulic systems in the car - no dice.
I dunno if I just got a bad unit, but I don't think I'll try to find out if another one will work. I think I'll switch to the AWE clutch.
