I'm curious though, did you log IAT's to get those times you mention? They seem long. I don't have my logs handy to see if I have captured that type of data, but DonP's write up in the tech section on removing the fog lights showed a 21 sec recovery time at 60 mph following a "quick full throttle 0-80 run." That's 21 secs for the temps to return to pre-run temps. You're saying it takes 15-20 minutes?
The nice thing about the Avalon kit is that spraying is tripped by a combination of IC temperature and injector duty cycle, both of which are adjustable. But it's more expensive than your idea.
I applaud the effort, it's nice to see people trying different things. I think though if I were considering that set up I'd want to see some test results.
