Default thanks for the post. I'm in Asheville, so I'll round up my local crew.

A few FerrariChat peeps want to come, those who aren't garage queen types that is. I will guarantee luscious assorted flavors of makes, just to make it a fun day.

I've never driven that road, but I hear it's pretty nuts!

Default nope, but I hear it's fun. Do you mean the actual event?

Or just pleasure?? I haven't done either, certainly not the timed event just because I don't want to beat on my car like that. If I had a dedicated track car I might, it's a pretty big deal from what I hear.

Default Several roads in the area are insane... Check out Hwy 68 between 64 & Tellico Plains.. >>

One of the best and least known in the area. Speed limits 55 and if you stay in your lane and do 55, you are a VERY good driver!!

Default My friends and I went up it by accident......

We were going rafting down the nulichucky (sp?) river. We turned off on the wrong road on the way to the rafting base meet site.

What a wrong turn that ended up being. Half way up realized something was wrong. Luckily we had like an hour and half to kill so, we just kept going. That is a CRAZY road!!!! Turns so sharp you could see the back end of your car as your go around the turn.

They have a timed event going up that thing? If so when? That would kick ****, I would definately drive down for that. Area is a bit sketchy though, sure deliverince was filmed near by. Pretty country though.

When you get to the top of Beech Mtn, the view is unreal. Even more unreal is those houses that just hang all the way the heck off that cliff at the very tippy top.

Default I remember roaming some of those roads....

its like 55 in what a porsche? no guard rail either. Its like WRC rally course in europe but paved.

I love how they keep 55 as the limit on the hair pins...
