Default 16486 - Mass air flow circiut low input?

I was doing a 250 mile round trip this morning. On a deserted highway, I felt like opening the car up a little, dropped it in 5th gear and accelerated to 130mph. Then, a loud thud (sounded like running over a big muffler) and no more throttle/acceleration. I know for certain I did not hit anything. It was like the throttle plate closed very fast, and I heard the drivetrain do its clunking noise when jerked hard. My foot was to the floor when this happened but the car slowed for a very long second, I then let off the gas pedal, then everything was back to normal.

Pissed, I try to duplicate this immediately. I did 80-140mph runs using 4th and 5th - and the car just begs for more - no problems. On the streets I take it to redline in 1st, 2nd, 3rd a couple times, but the car just begs to go faster.

So I come home and get DTC 16486 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input. I guess if the engine is starved for air, the computer will close the throttle plate? I don't know, anybody have some thoughts or suggestions? I guess checking the filter box and throttle body is mandatory.

The car has 34K miles, baileys, AWE's filter/intake, and APR's chip (since 1K miles and is awesome)

Default Limp mode. It lasts about 10 seconds or so. What caused it is another question.

Check the connector on top of the MASS and make sure it is snapped in. Also look for obvious air leaks. It could be unrelated to the MASS ,despite the code.
