1. Current Chips run the K04s more or less in their high efficiency area of the map. That makes them spin slower.
2. K04s have not been around long enough in sufficient numbers to establish a meaningful failure trend.
If not properly shielded, I fully expect K04s, that are tracked hard and frequently, to fail as well from the oil pre-heating problem. But, their life expectancy should be longer than K03s because they're not over-spun constantly.
