If they can buy clothes, we can buy tools. If they can buy (or have us buy) jewelry, etc..we can buy vehicle parts. If they can sit and watch shows or talk to their friends, we can go to the garage. It's a tradeoff, a two-way street if you will. At least mine understands it that way. She gets pissed when I spend the whole day with the car. But then we go out to dinner or whatever and I show her I care about her almost as much as that stupid chunk of steel in the garage, and it's all better. :P
