There is no need for the electric fan to be on above 20-30mph. If the fan is on at higher speeds it will be counterproductive to the flow of air. Same goes for the mechanical fan. Above a certain mph it does more harm than good. Have you ever noticed that the clutch fan disengages once you pick up speed? - you might have been too busy watching your voltage gauge.
What is accomplished by removing that rotating mass which causes parasitic drag on the motor is far more desireable than using a little more juice while sitting at a stop light or while in traffic. Even when the clutch fan is disengaged, there is a considerable amount of force put into turning the mechanical fan... maybe when you put in your efk from Supreme Power Parts you can turn the clutch in your hand and see what I'm talking about first hand.
BTW, I'm the kind of guy who has trouble pulling of the front fascia grills because I hate to be rough on the car... so cut me some slack on the bumper.
