Default Nop.

Ok, to picture it in your head, why don't you think in extremes.

Let's say the car had 99% of the weight on the front and only 1% on the rear. Would the car now understeer more or oversteer more?

The answer is understeer. The front tyre would be taking all of the load. They wouldn't be working very efficiently at all.

Granted, there would be almost no weight on the rear tyres. But there would also be very little mass pushing the back of the car sideways. Those tyres would be operating *very* efficiently -- a lot more efficiently than the front tyres.

Why do you think we are constantly trying to move mass from the front of the car to the back so as to reduce understeer?

Default Re: I'm curious as to what kind of passenger seat you have that weighs 83.6lbs (38Kgs)?

Is this the same seat as yours?

If so, I'm almost certain it was between 35 and 40Kg's

Euro spec model in Australia

Either way I could easily make the difference up with my:

lighter exhaust = not sure exactly maybe 5-10pounds
Brakes = 11 pounds (off the front)
Empty wahser fluid = 6 pounds(hah getting
desperate)

TOT: 22-27 pounds extra

Default That's right.

reduce a 101 lb car down to 1 lb and the acceleration would be almost insane -- certainly a lot better improvement than 1/10 second.

Default you have no understanding of car dynamics

you don't take braking, suspension travel, tire contact patch, coefficient of friction and many other factors into account. But if that's what you want to believe, so be it.

Do you track/race?

I get ~8.8hp for 100lbs on a typical S4 weight with a coeff. of rolling friction of 0.013

FWIW, exhaust will drop way more than 10 lbs. I swear my Twin 1 was 20 pounds less than stock.
