Default What's the best rear muffler for my application...

I have an AWE Twin1 and would like to weld in a muffler to the rear (yeah, let's not get into why I didn't get a Twin2 to start with...).

Things to keep in mind:
1. I like the AWE tips and want to keep them.
2. Basically I want something quiet.
3. This is for a stage 3 car but I'd like the flow characteristics to be good enough for an RS6 or GT setup (you never know...)
4. The AWE Twin1 is dual 2.25"

I have pretty much no clue about this stuff as you can tell by the following questions... What do you recommend and why? Magnaflow? Dynomax? Borla? Which model specifically (there are so many)? What size? Is an x-pipe good? How will this affect my current exhaust tone? Will I lose the burbles and pops on throttle lift?

Thanks.

I would, but it's in the $500-600 range (I can't remember exactly). Not worth it.

Default Unless you can weld, any shop that would TIG weld it will prob charge more for the custom work...

that said, you can always go the local muffler shop route, but the quality is normally subpar.

I agree with Kai, call AWE and try to purchase the rear section, after all it's your S4 not a civic.

Default So you basically want to add a resonator to the mid section?

Thats what I would do. Keep everything you have now - don't touch the back box at all. Just find an appropriate "resonator" (2nd muffler) and install mid-stream before back box.

Default The plan was to put one in the back. What are the advantages of putting...

in a resonator in the middle?

I guess it would be easier, but wouldn't it be less quiet?
