i should be aware of and does anyone know what would be a good brand to go with aftermarket. I dont want to pay 190 per speaker for the same 7 year old bose speakers. Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Recently my driver door midrange speaker blew... (more)
I looked into getting a replacement BOSE, which would of been just one, and the dealer wanted a bit over 260 for that one speaker. I knew that was crazy. A thread over on AZ recommended the Infinity Reference speaker set for 80 bucks from Crutchfield of Best Buy, Part number 4022i... So after dealing with it for a month or two I decided to go after it, and I'm so happy with the speakers I couldn't begin to tell you. For a cheap speaker, when you compare it to the BOSE the quality is not even on the same page. 100% better quality into the Infinity, and its the lower model not even the Kappa which is more expensive. The reason Infinity works well is because its 2OHMs which is what you need to run any speaker on the BOSE Amplifier without creating issues.
Point being, Infinity Reference speakers have a wide range of sizes, and ones that fit the rear deck. If you call Crutchfield, they are SO helpful. They will tell you exactly what you need to fit the speaker in there if it is a bracket or whatever it is. Call 888-955-6000.

Sure! So I went to Bose.com and i got a hold of their suppport e-mail...
I wrote them complaining about the quality of the product and how a "top notch" speaker system shouldn't do this (dust cone separation) and they mailed me a new set of rear deck woofers which i put in myself and solved the problem in 3 days for free. They just require the part number (Bose part number)

I'll tell you it isn't that easy. You had to be a lucky guy. They told me they usually will NOT do
that . I called after seeing you post about that earlier on in the month or last month but BOSE wasn't as easy going haha.

I too have become afflicted by this Bose speaker bug. I going to try the e-mail route first. However as it looks like that is dependent on who you speak with does anyone know if Bose will sell me a replacement speaker?
