VAG codes help request / Chipping Q
I just got my Ross-Tech last week but they were out of Bentleys at the time so I needs some help (ordered Bentley about 10 minutes ago). I was planning on getting GIAC flash tomorrow but don't know if it is a good idea until I get these codes resolved. Bone stock right now.
VAG-COM Version: Release 607.3-UD
Address 01: Engine
Part No: 8D0 907 551 A
Component: 2.7l V6/5VT G 0002
Coding: 06611
Shop #: WSC 06325
1) 17862 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235): Short to Ground
P1454 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
2) 17539 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B2 S1: Internal Resistance too High
P1131 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
This is Driver side pre-cat, what is the procedure to test the O2 sensor, or should I just buy a new front set, car just rolled 100K?
3) 16815 - Warm Up Catalyst; Bank 2: Efficiency Below Threshold
P0431 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16805 - Warm Up Catalyst; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold
P0421 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Sorry for my ignorance but is the "Warm up Catalyst" the same as the "pre-cat" or is this refering to the actually heater element in the sensor?
4) 17953 - Throttle Valve Controller: Malfunction
P1545 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
This is the one that worries me a bit. Could not find much info about it, any ideas?
The codes were all cleared (supposedly) when I had it into the shop about 5K miles ago.
Should any of these stop me from getting flashed tomorrow, or can I go ahead and get them fixed afterward?
Got piggies with relocated O2's to put on once I have enough scratch to get a AWE Twin2. Hopefully in a few weeks.
Thanks for your input as always.

Thanks, followup Q - EGT replacement / logging
I have no problems at all waiting to chip, that is why I got the VAG to begin with.
So luckily it is EGT 1 so that means it is the passenger side (easier one) to replace. Is there anything I should try and log to make sure that it is toast before just buying a new EGT. Also, any reason to replace both EGTs if I am only getting codes for one besides peace of mind?
Do I start with replacing the EGT before I worry about the Lambda sensor and that last code, Throttle Valve Controller: Malfunction?

I don't think you'll see much in the logs, though you could try to log EGT temps.
At any rate, clear the codes. The EGT one will probably come back as soon as you hit the gas.
Yes, replace both. Just because.

You are correct Sir - EGT code came back
EGT code came back, drove around for about 5 miles, none of the other codes came back yet. Will check again after commute to work tomorrow. Thanks again
