Default Update on defective Vogtlant GT's from Startup Racing. I'm not happy.

So after almost a month of not hearing an update on the replacement shocks that were promised, I emailed Startup and was told to send a deposit and I would receive replacement shocks.

When I asked what would be done about labor, here's the response:

"Warranty does not cover labor. Unfortunately risk of tuning...

Tomasz"

My reply:

"This is not a warranty issue. This product was defective on installation. Consider me unsatisfied with this response, and expect negative publicity for your company's support."

Comments?

Default That's pretty standard and something I'd expect from all companies...

the exception being if they did the installation too

2nd. I've never seen a warranty cover labor unless the same company did the install.

Default Sorry to hear but you must understand that this is industry standard.

It is a risk you take when buying stuff online and getting it installed locally.

If you were to have bought it from a local tuning shop where you had it installed they would have likely covered it for you.

Sometimes when you try to save a few bucks it ends up costing more in the long run.

Tomasz did all he could have or should have done here IMHO.

Default Agreed you need to buy the product from the place that installs it. I had the same issue with a

throw out bearing. I had to pay twice for a clutch installation. Generally people price shop to save money and it can bite you in the azz. Your scenario might be a little different as that product is specific to certain distributors but that's the standard practice.
