Track day brake fluid question/problem
#11
DOT5.1 is less viscous than DOT4...
Some ABS systems require the less viscous fluid but our system works fine with DOT4. I wonder if that has something to do with the leaking? But 5.1 is ok in our system. Don't use DOT5 -- silicone.
Is the fluid reservoir over-full?
You do need to deal with this problem. The damage to the paint you see will be nothing compared with what is going on below the reservoir.
This is a weird problem. I don't really see what would be causing it. Is the ABS activating when you drive? I wonder if it would continue if you popped the ABS fuse? But as I said before, first thing I would do is replace the fluid and do a full bleed.

Thanks Stephen,
The levels are fine (not over full) and using oem dot 4 fluid.
I'm getting the fluid changed to dot 5.1 and will get the mechanic to take a look at it.
The thing is.. The car's braking was fantastic.. ABS worked fine and the car was stopping really well.
Anyways
