Stasis Brake install from this weekend...(long)
After having my stock brakes repalaced for a second time in under a year, I figured it was time to upgrade. I decide to go with the Stasis kit after many phone calls, many questions at track events and conversations with other "gear heads". I was getting ready to pull the plug when a higher calling needed my funds. An engagement ring.
So after I dropped big dollars on an engagement ring, I thought the brakes would have to wait. But then my fiancée stepped in and said she would get me the brakes as her engagement gift to me!!!
So finally the day came when these arrived. Alcon 6 pot calipers with 332mm Brembo racing rotors:

Last weekend, with the help of JasonS4 and non-AW S4 friend the install began....
Wheels off, ready to go:

Not a big difference from the OEM's

The install started at about 11am, finished by 4pm with a ~30 minute lunch break (and a very fun drive in JasonS4's car). I already switched to my winter wheels--the stock rims, so fitment was not going to be an issue. It is tight, but there is at least 2-3mm (According to Ryan, I only 2 mm). Please excuse the brake dust, the stock pads did that in just over 2 weeks.

After the bedding cycles, I retrieved a summer tire from the basement to check...the true fitment concern. I am running BBS-RC 17 x 7.5 et45 (the ones from the Audi Collection) wrapped in S03's. I very carefully installed the wheel and checked clearances. The clearance was just over 2mm at the closest point. Note: I randomly grabbed a wheel. I am aware that the wheel is on the wrong side. It is just installed for clearance testing.

Install comments: The install is very straightforward and surprisingly easy. The Stasis instructions are "generic" in that they are not exclusive to this kit or my model year. But after several readings and wrench size changes, I was ready. The worst part was swapping out the brake lines, there was more fluid loss than I cared for. I used the 2 man conventional brake bleed technique. Slow, but effective. I posted after the first bedding about "irregular" rotor appearance. They are almost completely uniform now. Thank you to all for your input.
Outcome:
Pedal feel is great. The instant I touch the pedal, I can feel braking, but it is very subtle. The onset of the brakes is not nearly as grabby as the stock. I originally contributed this to the pads, but was told that this is a result of the reduced caliper flex and a more linear response. I have not been able to really get on them. About 75% of pedal I used before, is plenty now. I have to re-learn the car's braking. I am always stopping short. I cannot wait to get these on a track next year. I am very happy the results. The pedal feel and control are better than I hoped.
