I personally always wanted to do a throttle cable conversion for my A6.
Throttle lag is horrible. Not nearly as quick as the various cars that I've driven with a traditional throttle. My next car will have one, and that makes me teh happy 
Interesting thought about the Sprint Booster though. I remember hearing about a lot of the B6 guys using them. I thought they mentioned some driveability issues though..
