Default should there be movement between the two parts of the flywheel?

I jsut got the flywheel back from being resurfaced and when we torqed it back onto the motor we noticed that the rear side pivots up to 10 degrees or so from the side facing the block. Is this correct?

Default yes its normal...

it is a dual mass flywheel, so there is movement between the friction surface and the actual portion that bolts to the crankshaft

Default you mean rotates 10 deg in axis of normal rotation or it wobbles?

THe dual mass flywheel allows some rotation to dampen vibrations. It's kindof like the springs in the friction disk. The first time I saw mine I didn't know what was going on. I don't know what the rotational limit is before they recommend replacement.

Default yes on normal axis of rotation. 10 degrees was a bit of an exaggeration

it does however not feel very smooth when it rotates, should there be any restoring force to it?

Default maybe someone else knows the tolerance?

I was replacing my stock flywheel with an aluminum one so I didn't look into how much play is allowable.
