Default S4gasm -1 Audi dealership - 0

ok so i hate to re-hash the oil thing, but this is just plain funny.

So i call one of the local audi dealers, to look for some mobil 1 5w-30. Normally i wouldnt buy oil from a dealer, but someone gave me a $50 gift card to this particular dealer. We get to talking and long story short, he starts to tell me, "we dont carry that, you can just use 10w30, you dont need synthetic"...i laugh and tell him hes wrong, then he continues, "i know alot of you S4 guys are hardcore about your oil, but 10w30 is fine"

Knowing better, i say ok thanks for your time, and hang up. So i do my search and of course what do i find? But a link from AUDI OF AMERICA, listing ALL acceptable oils for our cars, but what is the ONLY oil NOT ON THE LIST? Could it be 10w30? LOL..not even listed....

Out of curiosity, i call the next dealer to see what they put in their customers S4's. I actually picked up some good knowledge from him on the subject, he was much brighter then the last fellow. Anyways he tells me that even though 5w-30 is what Audi had listed in the owners manual originally, that they now tell them to use 0w-40 from mobil 1, and castrol 5w40. Both fully synthetic of course...funny he never mentioned using 10w30..lol

I'm about to email this link to the first dealer's service manager.

The oil fill cap on the 2007 A4 loaner has Castrol molded right on it. How much did that cost them.

Default gotcha, yeah he said to use the 5w40 from Castrol. It appears that 0w30 is not recommended.

DUN-DUN!!
