EPC light on the cluster, a 'limp mode' of sorts....
if one of the potentiometers on the pedal assembly goes, throttle input should stay pretty normal as the other one will take over - if the actual throttle body goes the car will go into an emergency mode to allow you to get to a safe location to stop. its all in the 2.7T SSP.

Yes, flashing epc light and crappy throttle response like he said.
If you have VAG you can check the % of each pot in the gas pedal. They're inverted, as in one is 100% while the other is 0% and vice versa. Although you rarely see 100 and 0 for actual numbers. Check that first before you drop big bucks on a throttle body.
