I've heard both and my German is Schei?e. :-p

I'm going with "Steen" seeing it's german, not jewish. Jewish= "Stein".

Default I vote for "stine" From the little german I remember
all the "e" sounding combos were "ie" in order, like Liebe, sie, vier,.... while all words with "ei" order are pronounced "I" as in scheiss, zwei, einen, heffeweisen.

Going on that theory billstein is bill-stine.

steen. Also, for those that may not know, Porsche is pronounced porsha, not porsh.

Default porsha sounds all frenchy for some reason
i say porsh and Ow-de, not aud-e

i am just some dumb american, no one should be shocked. ever heard a german say ford? or chevy?
