POLL: Stoptech 332mm guys, how firm is your brake pedal and how much pedal travel do you have?

Yes, I have noticed they still have the bite when pedal travel moves lower!
It takes some ***** to keep pushing hard when that happens, though. I always tell the instructor that I don't have the confidence in my brakes when they ask why I'm braking earlier near the end of a session...but when I really do hit 'em they work. Then, I occasionally run into the shifter-popping-out-of-gear problem. So I guess the 2 "problems" are related in this instance...not sure if I made that clear thus far.

I don't drive 10/10ths, but I do like to go fast, so I bang through the gates in a braking zone.
I heel-toe each time, and when I slot into the final gear and turn-in, I expect the power to be ready to go. I don't think that's inherently hard on the tranny, but maybe it does stress the mounts.

My older APR stg3 st40s w/332 rotors feels just like the stock cars I've driven.
I didn't really smoke the crap out of my buddies' car's brakes though. They felt the same during normal driving.

Front kit vs. four-wheel StopTech kit piston sizing...
Before the development of our forged ST-22 two-piston caliper, we had only our ST-40 four-piston caliper for rear upgrades. With a minimum piston size of 28mm, we were limited in some instances in our ability to get low enough force output in the rear. In order to keep the correct balance of front and rear force outputs, we had to increase the piston sizing (maybe even only a little bit) for the front axle in a four-wheel kit on a few applications (the S4 being one). That is why the rear axle was not listed separately in our catalogs. This situation departed from perfection in that pedal travel was increased somewhat versus a front-only kit, but it was still better than most of our competitors.
Now that we have the ST-22 caliper, we are going back and eliminating the four-piston rear kits that required changed front piston sizes. Our current rear-axle kit for the S4 can be added to our standard front-axle kits or sold as part of a four-wheel kit, with no difference in the front calipers.
