Poll: Do you run a secondary coolant pump or a 90 degree elbow?
I have run the lower temp switch for a long time now, and have no complaints. My secondary pump has started leaking, and I'm debating on replacing it with a new pump or an elbow. What's the latest concensus? Worth the cooling effect or not? This poll is more geared towards those who have had the pump fail obviously. The labor is easy for the pump, but REALLY easy for just the elbow. Poll and thoughts.....post away!

just had this prob.. i replaced 3 times.. with 90 elbows.. they leaked so i brought new hose
and replaced all of it... i think it should be fine if you just drive softly for a mile before turning off.. i dont have a lower temp switch

This is my personal opinion, so no offense intended
I think it's ridiculous to defeat such an ingenious factory design just to save $100. There are tons of turbo cars with nothing like it installed from the factory, because those manufacturers rely on the boiling effect of the coolant to cause circulation which dissipates heat from the turbos.
People get away without it because it's not as critical if you do proper cooldowns and run synthetic oil. I think if the extra pump as giving some added insurance for times when you drive it hard and shut it down as soon as you pull in somewhere, such as gas stations, etc.
If you saw my previous pictures, it can be replaced without pulling the intake manifold. My opinions and the guys running elbows may have the last laugh in the end.
