Default New S4 owner. Auxilary water pump

Hello there. I drove my new-to-me S4 twice and now have it in pieces already The aux pump is the culprit. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with the 034 auxiliary pump delete hose? Would you suggest it or just get a new pump? Also since I have in intake off, is there anything else you would suggest replacing while I am at it? Thanks

just delete it, unless you drive your car super hard.

The pump is cheap. (I think I paid about $130 for mine). Hoses are $30. It took me 2 hours to replace without pulling the intake. At the same time I put in a lower temp temp sensor so the aux pump runs for a few minutes after shutting off the car. However, make sure you have a hose clamp pliers, and long needle nose pliers, because it a PITA to get them off. I think I used an inspection mirror to get a good look at what was under there before getting into it. I also had new intake gaskets handy just in case. Luckily I still have those in a box.

I replaced my pump when I found it bleeding but I have seen others just use a brass PEX 90-degree fitting (from lowes or HD) to connect the two hoses, if you want to just delete it. Also a word of caution. When I did mine I had to replace the injector o-rings...got it all back together and two injectors were leaking fuel. I got new o-rings at pepboys for like $5., just bring one in with you. Easier to just replace them than having to take it all apart again! Good luck.

I'd certainly replace the pump, it's there for the health of the turbos (you do like turbo's don't you? If not I'm guessing you don't like boobies either....) and might as well google and install the lower temp sensor to take extra care of the twins....

I have to agree with tkinney80, its there for a reason.

I also forgot to mention that when I replaced mine I got a genuine Audi replacement and I'm pretty sure it came with new hoses.

Too bad my 19 y. old grandson didn't 'check' with you guys first, before installing a bypass hose (in lieu of Pump on his '03 A6 2.7T)some months ago. Was just there (in Chicago @ +80F) last week helping him with front end work, and explained to him why he needs this pump - but to no avail, alas as he knows it all.

Spoke to his mother last night, and guess what, one of the turbos has started to 'talk' to him.
Any advise, or solutions, as he doesn't have the money, and needs every penny for school.

Easy. Sell the car, use the money for school. What 19 year old drives a luxury car anyway?
