Wow..7 weeks and I have put 3K miles (5K on the oil) on our new (to us) S4. Having driven Audi's for 15 years I have alway been told to use OEM filters and have done so with all my I-5 powered Audi's. Question about the filters, I have read here thatthere is a filter that holds a 1/2 quart more oil, does the dealer have them? If not where do you get them? How much oil does a S4 hold? Is the belly pan as much of a PIA as it is on both the '97 A8 '06 A8?

Belly pan is cake. 7 quarts brings the oil level to the top mark with either filter, weird.

I changed my oil pan and oil yesterday morning. It took about an hour and a half.

I have always used 5K miles as my mark. Maybe I am waisting money but it gives me a piece of mind knowing I am protected, been doing this for 15 years of Audi Turbo ownership and it has not let me down.

PS, if you havent read yet, if bellypan breaks, save some $ and replace with W8 bellypan
