Default Looking to go Stage 3, any thoughts?

I have a 2001 A6 with about 100k on the clock that if I sell it is probably worth $7k. So I have a very hard time spending close to $10k all in. I am wondering if it is possible to go Stage 3 for about $6-7k all in including clutch and labor? I already have piggies and Giac X. Will pass on intercoolers and would consider the "homebrew" route. Any thoughts (located in NYC Metro area)?

2 options for that price:

1. Do all the labor yourself - see if you can get used stage 3 parts from someone parting out their Stage 3. If not, buy turbos and hardware from JHM and then try to get a deal on one of the fueling kits from AWE, ECS, ASP and so on. Just live with the stock clutch until you inevitably kill it or save up enough to replace it.

2. Sell your car for 7k and take that plus the 6-7k your are willing to spend and put it all towards buying an Stage 3 S4. You might get lucky and get one for around 13-14k although most people are asking for at least 15k to part with a true stage 3.

Vast clutch ~ $700
Vast resurfaced FW ~ $100
K04s ~ $2300
Inlets ~ $300
Vast fueling ~ $1600
Intercooler ~ $300
DPs ~ free (piggies)
Exhaust ~ $300ish (custom)

Total comes out to roughly $5600 before shipping/tax. Even cheaper if you buy some of the parts used. As for labor, DIY or find someone local willing to help out and do the swap for you.

Just don't forget all the lil extras you will want to do when you pull the engine. They are optional, but its a once in a pull opertunity.
