Default Just put in one of the new xenon bulbs I got from ebay. Seems to be more white than the other old

bulb that's still in the other headlight. New one from ebay is a Philips 4300K, old one that came with the car is Osram Xenarc. The Osram definitley has more of the purpleish xenon look. Anyone know what the OEMs are as far as 4300K or 4500K? bitjockey and davenew....you guys bought from the same guy I think....integra something or other...did you also notice a whiter beam?

Default New bulbs take 100+ hours to 'burn in'. Comparing a brand new bulb to a 5+ year old bulb is

like comparing apples to oranges.

Default They will color shift to blue/purple as they age. They are 4300k stock.

3-5 year old 4300k become more like 5000k in color. The light output is far better with the new ones though. I have the Philips 4300k myself.

Default I haven't driven at night with them yet, so I don't know. I still need to park in front

of a wall to see the difference in beam brightness. I was just curious as to why the new bulb seemed less purple....sounds like it will become more so as it ages. The good news is that they work

my lenses are pitted and might be why they're dim, so I'm curious to see if I need e-codes

Default Like others have said, HID lamps will change in color over time.

Usually going from bright white to either a pinkish or blueish hue. This is due to build up of material on the arc tube.

If you want an exact match, you should change the other lamp too.

Default I have another new bulb. Just swapped the one that had been acting up as of late.

My driver's side light kept turning off while driving. If you switched them off then on it would come back on, but go out soon after again. I initially thought it was the ballast, but I swapped the bulb to the other side and the problem followed the bulb, so I'm not in any hurry to put the other bulb in just yet.

Quick Reply: Just put in one of the new xenon bulbs I got from ebay. Seems to be more white than the other old
