Default FIXED! For the forum archives: Loose engine mount bracket = electrical issues

After trying to figure out what's been causing all my issues for a couple months now (yeah, I'm slow), I finally figured out for sure what it is: ALL 4 of my engine mount bolts are missing on the passenger side. This caused:

-constant voltage jumps
-car not starting
-sparking/frying noises from the parking brake area
-battery light flickering
-one code only - terminal 30 low voltage

Although many of these seemed like a bad starter/alternator/battery related issues, it turns out it was the engine mount bracket after all.

After putting in only one bolt (the only one had, which was wedged between IC hose and oil pan), all of these symptoms went away. My voltage is back to regular, and is now higher than it was before at idle, or with key in accesory position. No more voltage irregularities and car starts up every time now.

Are there any other issues that could have arose during this time that I may not know about? I mean driving with one engine mount, theoretically, isn't good.

Thanks for all of your help throughout this <ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2899422.phtml">See old post here</a></li></ul>

Default Hah you'd be surprised.. I'm not gonna name names but I hope that they live up to their rep

and at least fix the problem which shouldn't have been an issue to start with.. My guess is they just hand-tightened the bolts and forgot to torque them down. I am going in for service this next week, so I really hope there won't be any confusion as to what happened..
