Default Emissions Readiness - How long does it take for the O2 sensors and Catalyst to reset back to Passed?

I need to do emissions this week, and I checked my codes and I had one that they would have most likely have failed the cars emissions (intermitten EGT error) - I checked readiness and everything passed, but of course when I cleared the codes it reset the readiness. If I were to let the car idle for an hour or so, would these reset? Do I need to go out and restart the car a dozen times?

Any help would be appreciated, registration expires Saturday

Take it out and drive it - 50 miles or so should do it (at least that's what mine does)

From a reset, mine needs about 10-12 miles and 2 starts to complete the cycle.

Default Do you think idling will get it to there too? I am stuck in the office, and its just as easy for me

start it and let it run for 30 mins, plus I could shoot right over to the emissions shop while the car is warm.

Default From what i understand about emissions stuff, there are different driving conditions it has to

encounter to complete the cycle. I think it needs varying speeds and loads but i'm not 100% positive.

Default i think you are right....when gustas, jd and i went out and logged my car we noticed it

would not read anything at 0% out of gear but it would change at whatever idle load is for a given speed with car in gear.

doc might be better with memory on that though....i was driving
