Default Clutch problem update. Could this be the cause...???

Slave kept blowing out. Mechanic and Piggie have been working on a solution.

Mechanic just posed this question to Piggie:

"I have measured the distance from the pressure plate fingers to the spacer face and the bell housing face to the throw-out bearing face at full extension. The difference is 10.7 mm. I found the pivot bushing to be quite worn over new. So, I will replace that to see if it gives us a greater distance. Mike, how great do you feel the difference in distance needs to be for the clutch to disengage and not damage the slave?"

What do you guys think? Could this be the possible cause of the constant slave failure? Anyone know what that distance is supposed to be?

Thanks.<ul><li><a href="http://Clutch%20issue">https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2503284.phtml</a></li></ul>

Default If you didn't have a SAC I'd think the measurement would have some merit, but

the Position of the fingers should be adjusting with wear. I have my 5k mile old rs4 PP, disc, and TOB if you need to compare with..
