Bad Camshaft Solenoid?
Long time reader, first time poster.
I'm considering buying a 2001 S4 for cheap. The catch is that the owner says the camshaft solenoid is bad and as a result it doesn't run. I'm trying to figure out the possible damage done to the engine if the cam adjuster went out while he was driving. I know the work is going to cost a pretty penny, but I don't mind doing it if the engine wasn't wrecked in the process and after the new solenoid is put in I won't run in to any other problems (specific to the cam adjuster going out).
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

nope
bad camshaft solenoid will not cause the engine not to run. It will run rough but it will run. If it won't run at all AND it has P codes for camshaft solenoid I would expect something more serious.
