Default ASP K04/RS6 Fueling kit update...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/38083/cimg2087.jpg"></center><p>ASP and I have worked pretty hard on this setup over the past few months. We've overcome some obstacles regarding fueling requirements and the 90mm/hitachi combo and now have the Mototron injectors squirting happily at stock idle speeds at 4bar, for ~730cc of fuel while maintaining that buttery smooth part-throttle response that ASP kits are known for.

The extra fuel was required over my original 3bar setup due to our ethanol-rich and oxygenated fuel. Our target AFR's have richened up significantly over the leaner mixtures that worked well in the old mtbe-fuel used in my homebrew setup. At these cylinder pressures this is a real concern we needed to address. (Some of my local hybrid/homebrew brethren have had to pull around 4deg of timing just to keep things somewhat normal, even with quite rich mixtures.)

Anyhow We're still working on finding that optimal balance between Fueling, Timing and Boost but now we have overcome a few technical obstacles in getting adequate fuel, and getting everything "just right".

How good is this setup for daily driving? I write you now from a hotel room a few hundred miles from home. I took the S4 here despite the fact I could have taken a company-car It's smoooth and decent on gas. ~25mpg in 80% highway driving.

As far as data goes: Once we get everything nailed down I'll provide plenty. We're using a significantly lower boost curve than I was running on homebrew. We're working towards getting our increases through a more optimized timing curve, supported by a whole-lot of fuel.

As far as FATS goes, we're currently running low low 3's on 93 with 70ish deg weather (3.1x is a common number) but I'm now running a couple lbs more boost than I (and my KV's) would like with this witches brew of fuel. Again, our tuning paradigm has changed to cope.

I honestly don't think we can run the 27-28 PSI I was running previously on pump gas anymore, it just looks too risky at this point. I see no reason not to work towards a 27-25psi drag-race file on race-gas though, and that is something on our "to-do list" for this year.

Anyhow, thanks for everyones patience and support on this project and I'll be sure to provide more updates as soon as they're available.

Default Yep: Thats what it took to do a 2.7 FATS.

AFAIK, Trooper and Chuck... both who run similar times run around that boost, possible a couple more lbs <ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/canada/msgs/57275.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/canada/msgs/57275.phtml</a</li></ul>

Default It's all compressor, lol.

We'll see how that number changes when we lower boost a tad and try to get more timing. I hope we can get it a bit faster, but I'd be happy with a *reliable* 3.2 in 75deg weather.

I wouldn't hold 24psi past 5500rpm. shoot for 23 at 6k and 21 and 7
