Default I think you have been out of the DSM and Evo community to long.....

I currently own a 450whp GSX with a FPGreen and it is very pleasant to drive. It uses a kevlar clutch which is very forgiving, has a full exhaust, and had A/C and a full interior when it ran high 10's at 130mph+ on all boost.
My brother and I have since stripped the car and are turning it should be in 9 second form in the spring with a full cage and a GT42R. That will not be so streetable....
I have also built and tuned almost two dozen Evo's, DMS's, STi's, and WRX's, some to over 500whp, in the last year alone and made a good bit of money doing so.
I was the drag strip in Roswell, NM when fastest full interior 3000GT VR-4 in the world ran a 9 second pass with not much more than 700whp.
I also spend most of my weekends in the summer at drag strips or NASA/SCCA events in the southwest and spend LOTS of time around some of the fastest cars in the united states.
You are right, my aspect of the reality of S4 owners is distant. I just don't understand why no one can ask questions around here without getting the **** storm from people like you.
I have been on this forum for years with Tory and he has done the same to me when I posted results from my car. No hard feelings, just looking for answers.
BTW, just because Marc agrees with me on this one does not automatically make me wrong. I am just saying the car should be, and can go, faster. I am also saying it is reliable. I think we all agree on that? except for marc?

Default FWIW i never left the DSM community, I think its that we have different ideas of what "streetability

" is. perhaps that is precisely because we live in varying demographics. on that i suppose we can just agree to disagree and because of that we wont necessarily see eye to eye on the subject. nevertheless you have valid points, your initial ideas were just a little farfetched, and due to your own personal experience of toying and seeing a handful of the very fast EVOs perhaps your perception of the rest of the country it skewed. you do need to realize that of the 10-20 EVOs (not an exaggeration) i see a day, maybe 3 are modded TOPS, the rest are stock or have simple mods. i see one with un upgraded intercooler maybe once a month. so to you 11 second cars are a dime a dozen and believe i have been around 11 second cars for years now but they are still very very fast cars. i am trying my hand in a 300zx project at the moment that utilizes a full motor build and twin GT28Rs going for 750+rwhp. cars like that are next to impossible to find on an everyday basis. maybe i am far off here?
