Default More like financial intelligence...

I could have hung on and tried to make the transmission work. At best, I'd have a very fast car with limited appeal to anyone but me. On the otherhand, it was looking like a workable transmission solution, if there is one, would have cost a bunch more time and a bunch more money.

The economy is in the tank, and headed for the deep. There is still some disposable income among enthusiasts, but it's likely that it will dry up for a while. That said, I decided that if I was going to shut down the project and recover some of my money, sooner was better than later. It would appear that I was right. It took me a couple of weeks to sell all but a few odds and ends.

It's not so much that I need the cash, but rather the market for this kind of thing is likely going to hit the skids shortly. I had to decide if I was likely to keep the project going and be pleased with the result. No? Then the time to get out was six months ago... but now was whole lot better than next month, or next year.

Default Yes... but...

I should have kept the brakes and suspension. I didn't realize how much of the "fun factor" of the B5 S4 was wrapped up in those components.

Hanging around the fast cars at WMS is a little tough too...

Overall, it was the right decision.

Like I said, a 993 C4S is the right fun car for me.

Default I wanted to get an A5 Jetta too...

but I found a too good to be true deal on a 2000 Jetta where I could buy it before selling my S4.

Now I can be payment free until I can buy a new A4 3.0 TDI.

Default it's more like "taking a break" than moving on.:)

I'm taking a break from Audi with this BMW 135i.. but I'll be back in a S4 when I forget how painful it was on my wallet.

I'm having Dinan stg2 software installed next week but that's it for mods on this car.
