Do I need to replace the hood latch? Anyone have the part number?

I assume this is only when you lock the car/arm the alarm.

Are your windows down when this is happening? It took me months to find out that there was a motion sensor that kept being set off by the wind. If you lock your car, roll up the windows, or the bypass switch for the motion sensor is between the front and back doors on the drivers side on the frame pillar. You have to hit it each time to bypass though.

Sorry if this isnt the cause. I dont know of any hood latch sensor.

Windows are up - I found the code for the latch sensor. In typical Audi fashion, the part that appears to have failed is sub $15.

There is a plug on the latch assembly. That might be unplugged or broken.

I didn't know there are parts on our cars for less than $50-$1500.

OK..I'll check that. Ordered the hood latch alarm sensor just in case. With 121K miles, I might as well replace it anyway.

Can you provide me the part number for this, and where you got it? I need one too.
