6.5 Focals in kicks, anything I will need to relocate?
#4
I'm doing the same thing
I have a set of Utopia components I am looking to put in some fiberglass kickpanels. From searching the archives I found some people relocated the harnesses to make room. They didn't have to move them that much though just up into the dash a bit.
Let me know how yours turn out. I'm not sure how soon I'll get mine done. I have some other things to sort out first.

Lots of serious work to have 6.5" in the door. This linked method shows them in the floor really..
I don't care for speakers on the floor myself as I always worry about people's feet either kicking things in or their comfort when sitting there. I always found them annoying in other cars.
I looked into modifying the doors to hold the 6.5" setup but it would have involved lots of work and modifying the way the door looked a little which I didn't want.
I'd love to see someone come up with a better 6.5" solution. I've seen the premade door panels for Europe but you have to use their speakers which I'm not sure about.

I put 6.5s in my doors behind the stock grill.
It's not an ideal setup by any means but it is better than 5.25s. It wasn't easy either but I'm satisfied until I get the nerve (and the time) to do my own kick panels.
I don't particularly like the setup in that link, ugly IMO. I don't want intrusive kick panels that essentially look like a blob on the floor, I want something like this: <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/70376/004.jpg">
But this also limits driver choice.
