Default 2000S4 issues

Hi folks - new guy here.
I have a 2000 S4 (stock with 120k miles) that is giving me problems. I have had it for 5 years and its been trouble free but recently it has been hard starting and idled badly for 20 seconds and then cleared up and ran perfect.
Now it runs badly all the time, in fact it is not drivable.
Some more background - I build Porsche 944 race/performance engines (see www.944enhancement.com) so I know my way around engines and engine management.
I have a Vag Com and I have gone through the ECU - the only repeatable codes are an EGT code and a misfire code but these can be cleared and will not reappear right away. Logging the engine data while it is running gives all sorts of weird results - the AF correction is pegged at 25% most of the time (no load but different revs) the EGTs go up to 935 and 1000c (way high!) and the idle timing jumps all over. The O2 sensor v stays very low on one bank and comes up with revs on the other - but it still doesn't throw an O2 code.
Any thoughts / comments?

I'd say EGT first, then O2's given the Block 32's. Was the 25% negative or positive?

Default I say oxygen sensors are on their way out too. DIsconnect them and see how it runs.

The connectors for the O2 sensors are near the firewall (brown and green plugs).

2nd. Replace EGT first, then check.

Default Wow... let's investigate...

My s4 runs like ****.

I log it and it keeps telling me my EGTs are failing.

I log it, and my EGTs are sky high.

I don't know what's wrong with my car, but I work on 944's so I'm a genius.

So pretty please with sugar on top, change your f'ing egts.

wow.
