"Temporary clearbra" with tape?
I recall reading in a Motor Trend article where the testers were out in an area with a lot of rocks, etc., and resorted to temporarily taping the front ends of the test cars with a certain type of tape (no, it wasn't duct tape ;-) to protect them from stone chips.
It occured to me that this could be done while a vehicle is in transit to protect it from stone chips. However, I can't recall what type of tape they used. Does anyone have this article (it was a comparo with some high-dollar German stuff), or know of a suitable type of tape for this application? Tia!

After i detail my car friday for waterfest... i have to drive it down...
i will probably use that blue 'easy off' tape that you use to mask areas from paint. It's super easy to remove, and would keep the bugs off the front of my car for the 400 mile trip...
I'm not saying that it's going to LOOK good.. but... it works

Unfortunately, tape won't really solve chipping problems...
There were people who taped the front end of their cars running in the green group at Watkins Glen the other day... it doesn't actually help. It may prevent broken glass from getting on the track if a real big bit of debris hits a light, but if a rock hits your hood or bumper, even with tape on it, it'll still crack the paint, and still loosen it. When you pull the tape off, the paint will come with it. Thats the problem with clearbras too -- the car looks good until you need to take it off for some reason, and suddenly all the chips you weren't seeing show back up.

Greyhound Guy found some temporary clear bra type of material.
What's nice is you can drape it over the entire front clip (including headlights), and cut out holes for the air vents. Why you get to your destination, just pull it off in 3 seconds, and you're done! He never posted how much the stuff costs though. There's always a catch!
