Default Would you trade for 2022 RS3?

Like a few on this board I previously had an A3 and liked it.
With the 2022 refresh the interior looks more like our S4's.
The power is more abundant with 400HP and lighter weight.

I do like the bigger size S4 but when lease is up if an RS3 is close in price I might have to consider.

Wondering what everyone else's thoughts are.

That is unless of course Audi somehow comes out with a reasonably priced RS4 with 450 HP

If you don't need the size, why not. But if you do need the size, ....
People might look at the Q5 as more spacious than an avant. In height maybe, but it has a shorter cargo floor. Which wouldn't work for me.
The twin-scroll 3.0 is not as cool as the supercharged 3.0; I would think it'd lose out to the sound of the 2.5T if space is a non-concern.

I would make the switch in a heartbeat. In fact, that's exactly what I am planning to do when my current S4's lease expires. I am hoping for an S3 or RS3 depending on final specs and costs. After getting an A3 in January, I now realize how much I missed smaller and lighter cars.

Only problem is that RS3 lease is almost 2x expensive. RS cars don’t lease well at all.

If you want something smaller and more engaging, the RS3 is unique in the Audi lineup (now that the TTRS is out of production).

I moved from a Mk7 GTI to the S4, and while I don't regret it, the S4 definitely lacks the engaging character that the MQB cars offer.

I find that 7 year financing would have been less than a 3 year 15K mile lease on my S4.
I leased because of COVID 10K /year is more than enough.

If I were to get the RS3 I would finance it for 7 years. With a low rate I should be right side up in 3 years and could get out of it then if I wanted to.

To me biggest risk of financing is if it's an accident you are screwed by CarFax as value will drop considerably.

Since I am currently averaging about 6,700 miles a year I may purchase my car at the end of the lease and keep for at least a year while it has warranty.

pre-owned would be a better deal down the line. that rumored rear biased quattro and drift mode is definitely enticing. Not too mention the tun-ability of the 5 pot

It is not a rumour, it's a fact.

are we getting the 2022 rs3 in sedan form as well as hatchback form in north america? i prefer the sedan of the new a3/s3/rs3 over the outgoing model whose proportions were just a bit off.

i wish that audi were to offer an rs4 in sedan form, though, because while i don't need the space, it's just a more elegant daily at my ripe old age of 36 lol.

As it’s been for a long time, the US does not get the hatchback. I would have bought one if we did. A few years ago in a Germany Audi dealership I sat in a hatchback S3 with manual transmission. Alas, we got neither.
