Until now, I'd had 19" summers and 18" winters. So no idea how 19" all seasons would work out year round, and how they'd compare performance wise to PS 4S for summer use. I don't assume that the all seasons be quite as sharp as the summers, but I've read great things from those who run the PS All Season 4's all year.
on the S4, Michelin X Ice. On a couple others I have Pirellis - both are outstanding. But I am in 2 places with lots of snow. All depends on climate

Thanks. I assume you mean the X-Ice XI3's (18-inch). Tough call for me. We get snow/ice here, but some seasons it's mild; whereas others, we get dumped on. Hard to predict year to year, even with a Farmers' Almanac. I wonder as well about the difference in winter performance between 19" all seasons and 18" winters.

Thanks for clarifying. You must get a lot of snow to need that much sidewall.

I don’t even use the car daily or even that often (4100 miles on it, 2019 that I got in late 18) but don’t see the point in running a large wheel in winter, when the 17s are more comfortable over rough winter roads, and cheaper.

Pilot sports 4s for summers and sottozero 3 for the winter. best of both words, a train on rails and a mountain goat in the the snow. used my stock rims for my winter setup and went after market for the summer with a little bit more width

Thanks! Are your Sottozero 3's 19"? (Not sure if your stock rims were 18s or 19s.)

sotto zero run flat on the stock 18", pilot sport 4s (non-runflat_on 19s). having non-run flats on 19s made a world of a difference. the sotto zero3 are a good balance with steering, breaking, etc. love those things!

Good to know, thanks! I'm considering the PS 4S's for my stock 19s, although it seems a bit wasteful, unless I can get someone to take my S001's. I guess I won't know what I'm missing until I try the PS 4S's.

Regardless, I'll need to do something come late fall/winter. It's really a choice (again) between doing what you're doing (i.e., maximizing summer and winter performance with the best options for each), vs. being more economical and splitting the difference somehow (e.g., using 19" Michelin all seasons year-round OR getting proper winters (18s or 19s) and keeping the S001's for summer... etc.).

I am running into the same decision here too. Just picked up a 2021 S4 with the Bridgestones on it and live in PA where I need winter tires. With much of the year being cold, I am considering selling my Potenzas (700 miles on them right now) and just getting the Michelin 4S All seasons. My 2018 S4 had the factory pirelli all seasons and I never had an issue.
