Windshield problems
Anyone noticing how easy it is to pick up dings in the front windshield? I came from BMW, and in 114k miles on a 540, only had to call the glass guy twice for little fills - very strong windshield.
On my 2012 S4, with only 10k miles, I now have one decent star (which I'm trying to fix), and several dings. Driving habits are the same....
Anyone notice the same thing? Maybe it's just the angle of the glass, and perhaps a little softer glass....but anyone hear of any glass defects out there? Thanks!

***Luck of the draw*** I only had 1K on mine and got a dime sized chunk out of the black lower section of the windshield and Safelite filled it. I also drive 90% HWY.

Already replaced my 2012 windshield too. I was just unlucky as well. Caught a sizable rock while driving at 70+ in the rain on the highway. It was within an inch or two of the passenger edge. The crack grew to about 6 inches before I had it replaced at the dealer with factory glass.

If you do significant highway driving you are going to get chips in the windshield. Doesn't matter who makes the windshield. My friend who has an auto glass shop says that most replacemant windows are now comming from China. They must be really good quality!
