Preface: I searched and could not find anything on this.

Let's play "What's behind the glove compartment door?" As some of you have seen in my other thread, I brought home a '13 S4 last week. Over the weekend I began moving various things like pens, cell phone charger cables, etc. from my old car to the S4.

As many have mentioned here before, the sunglasses holder doesn't hold much of anything. At least it wouldn't hold my Electric Technician's which really aren't that big.

While looking for another spot for them I stumbled upon an interesting area in the glove compartment that I'm hoping you can help me identify.

In the first attachment below the area is pictured above the papers/manuals and below the flashlight. Oddly enough, my sunglasses snapped right into the clips so I left them there but something tells me that's not for sunglasses.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I'm pretty sure that is used so you can clip an IPOD/MP3 player into it. It holds my Ipod really well.

As for my sunglasses I actually put them where your flashlight is. Lens facing the fabric and they sit in there perfectly.

i use that clip to hold my registration and proof of insurance.

+1 on the sunglasses holder in that little bin in the glove box. The real sunglasses bin located up by the top of the windshield and sunroof controls is incredibly small - my Oakley's don't even come close to fitting in there - big oversight by Audi IMO. At least the glove box is easy to open from the drivers seat.

I think I read in an old post that the clip thing you're referring to is actually supposed to be for a pad of paper and pen. But if it works for holding an ipod or glasses, then cool. I'll have to look at that for my nano that I have in the glove box...

The 2010's have an elastic mesh pocket on the upper right of the glove box to hold the iPod

My '13 has this as well and that's where I keep my iPod.

I asked the dealer cause i didnt know.

They said the clip was for business cards and the part right behind it you clip a pen in.
