Default Walmart sells German Castrol Syntec

In Canada, anyway. I don't know about Stateside.

0W30 $6.88/1L bottle. Has the VW 502 00 spec on the bottle.

I've never seen it at wal-mart. The only place I know of in the USA that carries it is auto zone.

Have you used it? Is it recommended?

My local walmart carries Castrol Syntec, though I couldn't tell you if it was made in Germany or not. They only carry 5w-30 however.

Did my first oil change a month or so ago, and went with the mobil 1 0w40 Euro blend.

I found that if you buy the mobil 1 from one of their distributors you can get it for much cheaper then buying it from crappy tire.

I did notice that they had castrol syntec at walmart though with the vw rating.

Castrol 0W30 certainly does meet the VAG 502.00/505.00 spec.

Nothing wrong with Mobil one but it is not actually a FULL synthetic oil. It contains some highly refined dino oil along with the synthetic. I have used it as well as Castol and Valvoline synthetics. What info do you have to support you claim? I just bought this http://www.castrol.com/castrol/secti...tentId=7081015
