I'm curious of the opinion of people who have put some miles on their DSG transmissions. How does it wear? Does it still shift as crisp as it did when new? I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2013 S4 with the DSG, i've never owned an automatic transmission and was just curious how they age.

I've got 83000km on my car and the DSG is doing fine. Only needed a software update. It's not an automatic btw no slush box here

The B8S4 Stronic is an automatic shifting transmission, but has no torque converter and does not use the typical automatic planetary gears. An automated manual is still an automatic.

The main reliability/maintenance issue is the mechatronic controller.

Most of the problems with the mechatronic controller on these cars tends to happen early on. At least on the threads I've been reading. However I did see one member that had it after his warranty
