So you can't hold the brake down, rev to 1500-2000RPM, and then release brake? Do you get a better launch from just hammering the gas? Thanks...

No. It cuts off power completely if the foot is on the brake. You can't do the "Brake Torque" trick on the STronic S4. I enjoyed that on 335i - it was fun to brake torque and launch the car like a rocket and achieve better 0-60s then 6MT.

Gotcha... didn't really try this while test driving so wasn't sure.... Have a 2000 S4 tip so you know where I am coming from, although it doesn't launch that well, LOL.... thanks

"Remember, the 7-speed has one more shift down the 1/4 mile than the 6-speed."

If anyone uses anything higher than 4th in the 1/4 mile they obviously missed a gear.

Shift points are different between the 6MT vs S-Tronic because of the additional gear. I.E. 0-60 run, a 6MT will be in 2nd while an S-tronic will be in 3rd.
