Default Thinking of changing color on my order

I ordered a 2011 with Phantom Black Pearl, with red/black leather seats and standard inlays. After thinking for a while, and looking at other colors, I was thinking may be I should get car with different color - may be silver - to minimize washing and such. I don't really like washing and detailing, but don't trust car washes in my neighborhood. So what color would show up dirt the least? My guess would be silver...

Granted I haven't seen the combo in person, I think the Ibis/Magma combo is going to be a winner. I just think Black is too much work and silver is blah.

Yes, black is beautiful, but it is commitment to cleaning the car well every week, to maintain the look.

Ice Silver probably requires the least maintenance. Quartz may be similar but more work than Ice. White is generally pretty easy to maintain, but not as easy as silver.

A rough order of maintenance MIGHT be, Ice Silver being easiest;

Ice Silver
Quartz Gray
Ibis White
Yellow
Red
Sprint Blue
Meteor Gray
Deep Sea Blue
Phantom Black or Brillant Black

Ice Silver with the Black/Red or Black/Silver interior really looks sharp. White is okay, kinda bland.

I think white looks worse than black when it's dirty. A black car can have mud on it and look OK. On white it looks like a 20 year old Buick LeSabre with no finish when it has dirt on it. Like the kind of people who wash their car a couple of times a season.

Silver is really easy to maintain and I'd probably recommend it in a northern climate. If you have a garage at home and at work, go for black.

Forget the white or black mindset & just split the difference with Meteor Gray. I - and many others on this board - have Meteor Gray and absolutely love it (as does everyone else who sees the car)! Classy - like black/white - but will change color on occasion and is slow to show dirt.

Meteor is a great color, I didn't go there because my last 2 Audi's were Dolphin Grey and had a similar color on a truck. I think that shade is one of the most popular colors out there across the industry.

A few people on this forum with Ibis may just slightly disagree with this comment.

Meteor Gray is fairly easy to maintain, it's my *silver* trispokes that are a royal pain, though anti-brake dust sprays appear to help. At the dealership, rain won't have much of an effect on the silver & white cars that are *parked.*

But, once you bring a silver or white car on an actual road - that rain will mix with all the dirt and other sediment on the street and *that* may cause a problem for those lighter color cars!
