I just got a call from my dealership 1 hour ago saying that there is a thermostat recall on my 2010 S4. I'm coming in on Monday to get it replaced but curious if anyone else is aware of this.

Yup, I dropped mine off today for the first service (5k) today and the service advisor told me that they just learned of a TSB for the thermostat in my 2011 S4. Kinda good timing for me.

I dropped my car off at the dealer to replace my cracked windshield and they told me about the recall on the thermostat. Picked it up this afternoon and all is well.

What would happen if the thermostat goes wrong? I have mine at only 355 miles so far.

It sticks closed and the car gets too hot and tells you to turn it off.

So is this a recall or a TSB? People seem to be saying both. I don't recall threads about a rash of thermostat problems, but maybe I missed them.

If it's a recall, would you expect dealers to replace the thermostat proactively on all cars in inventory or incoming soon?

So this affects 2011 S4s as well?

Also, do they have to remove the S/C to get to the thermostat?

It seems 2011 is currently affected (mine is). I believe the SC does have to be removed to access it.
